About Medicare Supplement Plans 2027: Who We Are and How We Check Every Number

Reviewed by Russell Noga, Licensed Medicare Insurance Broker (all 50 states) — Last updated October 29, 2026

Medicare Supplement Plans 2027 is an independent guide to Medicare Supplement (Medigap) insurance, and every page is reviewed by Russell Noga, a licensed Medicare insurance broker in all 50 states. We are not Medicare or any government agency. Each figure we publish is tied to a named source such as CMS, the Medicare Trustees, KFF or a state insurance department, and projected 2027 numbers are labeled as projections.

This site exists for one decision: picking and pricing a Medicare Supplement plan for the 2027 plan year. Medicare Supplement plans are standardized by letter, so the coverage part of the decision is short. The hard part is timing, eligibility and price, and those depend on dates, state laws and company rate filings that change every year.

This page explains who is behind the site, where our numbers come from, how we decide what goes on a page and how the site earns money. Our full policy is in our editorial standards.

Who Reviews the Pages on This Site

About Medicare Supplement Plans 2027: independent Medicare Supplement guide reviewed by a broker licensed in all 50 states

Every guide carries the same byline: reviewed by Russell Noga, a licensed Medicare insurance broker in all 50 states. A broker license matters here because Medicare Supplement rules are state rules. Open enrollment rights, birthday rules, under-65 access and allowed pricing methods all change at the state line, and a broker licensed nationwide has to work within all of them.

What the reviewer checks. Plan rules, eligibility dates, state law references and whether a figure is confirmed or still a projection.

What the reviewer does not do. Promise a price. Premiums come from each company’s filed rates for your age, ZIP code and health.

Dates on every page. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed, so you can tell how fresh the numbers are.

What This Site Covers, and What It Does Not

We focus on Medicare Supplement insurance only. That keeps the pages deep instead of broad. We compare Medicare Supplement with Medicare Advantage on one page, Medicare Supplement vs Medicare Advantage 2027, to help you pick a path, but we do not review Medicare Advantage or Part D products.

Type of guide What it answers Example
Plan letter guides What one letter covers and costs Plan G, Plan N, Plan K, High-Deductible G
Company reviews Who underwrites a brand, its ratings, discounts and where it sells Aetna, Mutual of Omaha, Medico
State guides State rules and real premium ranges from state rate guides Texas, Florida, California, Indiana, Maine
Rules and timing When you can buy, switch or get guaranteed acceptance Open enrollment, guaranteed issue, changing plans

Start with our 2027 comparison chart if you are new to the plan letters.

The Official Sources Behind Our 2027 Numbers

The 2027 plan year is not fully priced yet. Some Medicare amounts are final, some are projections, and many company rates are still being filed. Here is the ledger we work from and the status of each figure as of October 2026.

Figure Amount Source Status
Part B premium $202.90 a month (2026) CMS Final for 2026
Part B deductible $283 (2026) CMS Final for 2026
Part A hospital deductible $1,736 (2026) CMS Final for 2026
Part B premium and deductible, 2027 $209.50 and $292 Medicare Trustees Projection; CMS sets final amounts in the fall
High-Deductible Plan F and G deductible $3,050 (2027) CMS Set for 2027
Medicare Supplement members About 13.8 million (end of 2025) NAIC data via Mark Farrah Associates Latest annual count

We update a figure on our pages when its source publishes a new number.

Why we label projections: A projected 2027 number can move before CMS makes it final. When a page uses one, it says so, so you are never planning around a number that was a guess.

How a Fact Gets Onto a Page

About Medicare Supplement Plans 2027: how each fact is sourced, labeled, reviewed by a licensed broker and dated
1

Find a named source. A government agency, state insurance department, NAIC filing, carrier document or a research group like KFF. If we cannot find one, the fact stays off the page.

2

Prefer prices from state rate guides. When we show real premiums, they come from a state insurance department’s published comparison, with the state, year, age and ZIP code named.

3

Say where it came from. Tables and figures carry a source line so you can check them yourself.

4

No invented stories. We do not publish made-up client stories, quotes or “in our experience” claims.

5

Keep every page different. Before a page goes live, we check it against every other page on the site so no guide repeats another one with only a name swapped.

Common 2027 Mix-Ups We Clear Up

The fall enrollment period is not for Medicare Supplement. October 15 to December 7 is for Medicare Advantage and Part D changes. Medicare Supplement plans have no yearly open season; your best window is your own six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period.

Plan F is not gone. It is closed only to people first eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020. Earlier eligibles can still buy it.

A 2027 rate is not set by Medicare. Each company files its own premiums with each state, and increases can take effect at different times of the year.

Same letter, same benefits. A Plan G from one company pays exactly what a Plan G from another pays. Price, discounts and service are what differ.

How This Site Is Paid and How to Reach Us

Medicare Supplement Plans 2027 may receive compensation when you request information or connect with licensed insurance agents or insurance partners through the site. That is how the guides stay free. It does not change what a plan letter covers, and it does not change the premium you pay: Medicare Supplement rates are filed with the state, and the same policy costs the same whether you buy through an agent or direct.

Found an error? Send the page address and what you think is wrong through our Contact Us page. We check it against the source and correct the page if needed.

If you are just starting out, our step-by-step guide on how to choose a Medigap policy for 2027 is the best first read.

Bottom Line

Medicare Supplement Plans 2027 is an independent, Medicare Supplement-only guide reviewed by a licensed broker in all 50 states. Every number on it points to a named source, projections are marked as projections, and real prices come from state insurance department rate guides. If something looks wrong, tell us and we will check it.

About Medicare Supplement Plans 2027 — Frequently Asked Questions

➤ Is Medicare Supplement Plans 2027 run by the government?

No. This is an independent website. It is not Medicare, Medicare.gov, CMS or any other government agency, and it is not endorsed by them.

➤ Who reviews the information on this website?

Russell Noga, a licensed Medicare insurance broker in all 50 states, reviews the guides. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.

➤ Where do your 2027 figures come from?

From named sources: CMS for Medicare amounts, the Medicare Trustees for projections, NAIC data and KFF for enrollment, and state insurance departments for real premium examples.

➤ Why do some pages say a 2027 number is projected?

Some 2027 Medicare amounts, like the Part B premium and deductible, are not final until CMS announces them in the fall. Until then we show the Trustees projection and label it.

➤ Does this site sell insurance?

The site may connect you with licensed insurance agents or insurance partners and may be paid when you do. Using an agent does not raise your premium, because rates are filed with your state.

➤ Why does this site only cover Medicare Supplement plans?

Focusing on one product lets us go deeper on plan letters, companies and state rules. We compare Medicare Supplement with Medicare Advantage on one page to help you choose a path.

➤ How do I report a mistake on a page?

Use our Contact Us page and include the page address and the detail you think is wrong. We check it against the original source.

➤ Can I trust the premium examples I see here?

They are real figures from published state rate guides, with the state, year, age and ZIP code named. Your own price will differ, so get a quote for your ZIP code before you decide.
