Most Aetna reviews stop at “Aetna is a big, trusted name.” That does not help you pick a policy. Two facts matter more. First, “Aetna” is a brand. The policy you sign is issued by one of several Aetna-owned insurance companies, and the one you get depends on your state. Second, Aetna’s prices are not consistently high or low. In one state it can be one of the cheaper Plan G options. In the next state over, it can be the most expensive.
We pulled Aetna’s rows from two official state premium guides, AM Best’s June 2026 rating action and the Kentucky, Iowa, Indiana and Nevada company lists.
