Medicare Supplement Plan G is the plan where price matters most. Every carrier’s Plan G pays exactly the same benefits, because Medigap plans are standardized by federal law. The only real difference between one Plan G policy and another is what you pay for it.
Carriers file Medigap premiums state by state throughout the year, so there is no single 2027 Plan G rate yet. Here is what we do know. The national average Plan G premium rose from about $159 a month in 2025 to about $180 a month in 2026 for a 65-year-old woman who doesn’t smoke, according to ValuePenguin. Plan G rate increases averaged 16.8% across the industry in 2026, according to Telos Actuarial.
This guide breaks down what drives your Plan G cost in 2027, how age and state change the price, and the total yearly amount to budget for.
